Summary The Marketing Strategist will provide sales support to the Account Executive and Producer and is responsible for securing quotes, compiling the necessary data and creating the marketing presentations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):

Responsible for the execution and coordination of marketing activities. This includes, but is not limited to, the Request for Proposal (RFP) process from start to finish; distributing RFP to identified markets via BenefitPoint; communication with carriers to ensure receipt of requests and alignment with timelines; negotiating proposals from carriers involved with the bidding process, assessing proposal strength against our internal forecasts, and regular communication with Account Executives and Producers regarding status, outcomes or issues.

Responsible for determining that all information requested from the carriers or vendors is timely and accurate according to quote requests.

Creates spreadsheets or other key reports as required with plan details and rate exhibits and reviews these for accuracy.

Schedules and meets with Account Executives and Producers to present final RFP within established timeline.

In addition, is responsible for developing relationships with key contacts at preferred carriers to ensure full product and pricing knowledge as well being aware of key changes or updates impacting clients, prospects and processes and proactively communicating those changes to Marketing Executive.    

Follows agency policies and procedures including but not limited to providing final marketing and sold plan documents to data entry resource is applicable, HIPAA compliance, and filing and file maintenance.

Participates in special projects/teams, proactively identifies area to assist team members, assists in workflow review and improvement initiatives, and performs all other duties as assigned inside and outside of job scope.

Education and/or Experience

High school degree or equivalent. College degree preferred.

            Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

            All applicable insurance licenses.              


             Language Skills                    

Ability to read and interpret carrier proposals, Agency policies and procedures, and safety rules. Ability to develop
benefit comparisons for marketing presentations.

Mathematical Skills                    

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

             Reasoning Ability                    

             Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  

             Ability to deal with problems that may arise in the marketing of coverages or inputting of client data.

Computer Skills                    

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Agency management software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Office suite of products, and Microsoft Outlook. Must have strong
Excel skills.
